ING introduces fees for bank accounts

New monthly fee for ING bank accounts as of May

The ING bank account is definitely one of the most popular bank accounts on the German market, mainly due to the fact that it is completely free of charge. Unfortunately the ING bank account won’t be for free in general anymore… 🙁 The bank account remains for free if qualify for one of the below conditions:

  • You are below 28 years old
  • You receive a monthly incoming payment of at least 700 EUR

However the good news is, that there are still bank accounts without monthly fees in Germany. Here are three good alternatives to ING:

N26
o €per month
  • No monthly or annual fees
  • Online banking in English, Spanish, French & Italian
  • Free Mastercard
  • Apple Pay & Google Pay
Commerzbank
0 €per month
  • No monthly or annual fees
  • Online banking in English
  • Free debit card
  • Apple Pay & Google Pay
DKB
0 €per month
  • No monthly or annual fees
  • Free debit & credit card
  • Apple Pay & Google Pay

So don’t worry 🙂 If you do not want to pay the monthly ING fee for your bank account, just change it to one of the above banks. By the way… all of them offer a so-called account change service (in German “Kontowechselservice”) which makes it even easier to change your bank account.
